Tour Our School
We can't wait to show you more about what makes our school so special. Our learning through play curriculum makes our days fun, our cooperative setting connects and commits our members to not only Parkview’s current students, but to those in Parkview’s future.

spaces at our school
Every space at our school is thoughtfully prepared with your child’s development in mind. They are also evolving; changing to meet the different interests and needs of our students at the time.

Our classrooms have been laid out by the teachers with your kids at the core of “why.” Each classroom is different, but you should expect to have sensory stations, arts or crafts, science tables, light tables, pretend play stations and “meeting areas” for circle time or classroom story time. There is space for children to break off into quieter corners when they need it and areas for students to show off their latest masterpieces.
This year, our Turtles and Caterpillars share a multiage classroom space. We've been enjoying watching the kids working together in this shared area.
-
We’re working on developing a new flow space, designed as a quieter place for calmer activities. This space is still in the works but we can’t wait to see how it turns out.
-
The community garden is a special place for our kids to explore. Parkview has a plot at the community garden on the church grounds. We often stop to smell the flowers, talk about what changes we’re seeing with the seasons, learn about the insects we see in the garden, name the colors or just take all of the beauty in. In the fall, the garden serves as a beautiful backdrop for our school photos.

Our Greenspace has seen such huge changes over the last couple of years and it’s been so beautiful to see the effort of members from years’ past play such a big role in our current students’ time at school. The Greenspace features a large table, plenty of construction vehicles, play kitchens and pea gravel as far as the eye can see. There are a couple of wooden playhouses that become post offices, or kitchen or shop or house or whatever it needs to be when the kids are playing that day. There are two “roller coasters” and a Turtle shaped climber that seem to serve as the heart of the Greenspace. There are chalkboards for drawing, outdoor easels for painting, and vehicles for riding. There’s also a magnetic ball run that we love to create courses with constantly.
-
Our Slide Room serves as a hub for indoor play at school when weather keeps us from playing outside too much. There are plenty of vehicles to choose from, scooters, bikes, trikes, and Cozy Coupes line the walls. Express yourself by drawing on the chalkboard wall or climb on the indoor jungle gym. This space is colorful and welcoming and a fun place for everyone to be, even when it’s gloomy outside.

When our school comes together in larger groups, we spend time in the Community Room, where we can run around, play with vehicles or balls and sometimes, even play in a bounce house. Our school parties are held here every year and we’ve even done the running of the Parkview 500 here.
